The Owner
Nick's passion for boating led him to purchase Pier 500 Marina in 1996. Since then, he has been actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the Marina. Over the years, he has built a network of staff and boating enthusiasts who have become like family. In 2016, the Marina was renamed Motor City Marina to attract a new crowd. After more than 25 years, the family has grown into something beyond Nick's wildest dreams.
Our Staff
Josh
Josh has been an integral part of our team since 2016; starting in the yard and working his way up to become our General Manager. We are incredibly grateful for his organizational skills, as they keep operations running smoothly!
Nestor
Nestor can be found tending to the yard almost every day. His friendly demeanor and exceptional work ethic makes him such a wonderful addition to our marina.
Julie
Julie joined our team in 2020 and has since become a very valuable part of our office as the Manager. Her welcoming spirit can make anyone feel like family, which has made her a beloved member of our team.
Grant
Grant started his position as yard worker Spring of 2024. His willingness to help and hard working attitude has been a great assist, especially in the yard. We are lucky to have him on board!
Piper
In august of 2023, we introduced Piper, our super sweet and goofy Marina dog! She has been such a happy edition to the team; she never fails to make us smile.
